Time Frame
The Scheme starts on November 1, 2005 and will end on October 31, 2010.
Eligibility
Donations received from HKU alumni (local or overseas) and students are eligible for matching.
[NB. Matching fund for the donations to activities organised by the student bodies will be administered according to specific guidelines set up by the Student Affairs Office.]
Matching Criteria
Donations will be matched, dollar for dollar, and the maximum matching for an individual donation is HK$5 million.
Donations will be matched at a first-come, first-served basis, determined by the date of receipt.
The matching ceiling is HK$100 million for each fiscal year running from November to October the following year.
Deployment of the Matching Grant
As in the case of the previous Government Matching Grant
Scheme, the matching grants will be released to the respective
faculty/department/individual where donations are earmarked
for such designations.
A Steering Committee chaired by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (University Relations) has been set up to oversee the campaign and to make recommendations to the Vice-Chancellor.
